Frequently Asked Questions
How much milk do I need to ship?
1/2 an ounce is plenty and will make 3-4 jewelry pieces. I save leftover preserved milk for up to 6 months, should you decide to order another piece or in the case of a replacement piece. Please do not send more than 1/2 an ounce unless you are ordering multiple pieces. As I don’t have enough room to store breast milk, any extra will be discarded of.
For pieces with ashes, please send no no more a teaspoon of ashes. Unused ashes will be returned with your finished piece.
Please note that it is your responsibility to ship your breast milk or other inclusions within a timely manner. In the event that you do not ship your breast milk within the turnaround time, a simulated piece will be sent in place of the breast milk item and no refund can be provided.
How do I ship my milk?
Place milk and any other inclusions, such as hair or ashes, into breast milk storage bags or ziplock bags. I do suggest double bagging to prevent leaking of your breast milk. You can ship through USPS for around $4. Your milk does not need to stay cold or be fresh, as it is sterilized and mixed with a preservative powder. You will ship to Jessica Thompson at

Please try to ship breast milk & other inclusions within two weeks of placing your order. If you are unable to do so, please kindly send me a message.
I do request that you DO NOT send the very last of your breast milk, ashes, etc. If you must, please purchase tracking on these items to ensure safe delivery to me.
What is the turnaround time on breast milk jewelry?
You can expect yoir finished jewelry to ship about 12-16 weeks from the time I receive your breast milk. This is a rough estimate and turnaround times can change with short notice. I will do my best to keep you updated if your keepsakes are delayed. Though I know this is a long turnaround time, it ensures my ability to only work on one order at a time, to avoid mixups and give every order my best. I do have a rush order option as well for a quicker TAT.
Can I request something I don’t see in your shop?
Of course! If there is a specific jewelry style you are interested in and do not see, send me an email at sweetbskeepsakes@gmail.com. I will do my best to create the piece you have in mind.
What is the process of creating breast milk keepsakes?
Once you ship your milk to me, it undergoes a sterilization and preservation process and is turned into fine powder. The powder is mixed with epoxy resin, which then hardens into a stone. It is then sanded and polished to perfection. Each keepsake will be unique and may have minor imperfections, such as bubbles or dust particles but these slight imperfections will not hinder the quality of your piece.
Cremation jewelry undergoes a similar process without the preservation portion. The ashes are mixed directly with the resin.
What type of metal are jewelry pieces made with?
Most rings and necklaces are made with 925 sterling silver. Some are 14k gold-filled. Both are incredible quality and will last quite some time when cared for regularly.
How should I care for my keepsake jewelry?
Avoid exposure to excess heat & moisture for quality care and to prevent tarnishing. Keep away from harsh chemicals. Do not wear while working heavily with your hands to prevent scratching of the stone or metal. Polish your ring with a polishing cloth or gently clean with baking soda.
Do you accept returns?
Due to the uniqueness and DNA that goes into every piece, I am unable to accept returns of breast milk and memorial jewelry. This also means I will not process refunds. However, if you are unsatisfied with your piece, please send me an e-mail and I will gladly replace it or fix it for you.
A Little About Me
I am a stay at home mama of three (and one on the way!) who specializes in DNA keepsakes of all kinds. I began this shop when I was exclusively pumping for my son in 2020. I was looking into breast milk jewelry to celebrate our exhausting journey but most options were so expensive and had a long turnaround time, as well as limited options. I then decided to DIY it and make my own.
Once I had finished mine, I was getting messages from friends who requested I make one for them as well. Then I turned to social media and now I’m here! Thousands of sales and hundreds 5-star reviews on Etsy. I am so blessed and thankful to own this shop and I really do have the best customers. I have met so many new friends along the way. I put every ounce of my love into these rings to create a special keepsake for you to remember your breastfeeding journey.
Out of all the jobs I have ever held, this one is by far my favorite. It is an honor to get to make these special keepsakes for you all & I am beyond blessed.
